Aims & Objectives

The MU promotes spiritual, psychological, social and physical aspects of women to advance Christian marriage, motherhood and family life. The work is guided by five MU objectives:

  1. To uphold Christ’s teaching on the nature of marriage and motherhood, and to promote their wider understanding;
  2. To encourage parents/mothers to bring up their children in the faith and life of the Church;
  3. To maintain a world-wide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship and service;
  4. To promote conditions in the society favourable to a stable family life and the protection of children;
  5. To help those whose family life has met with adversity.

Membership Requirements

Admission of New Members

New members are admitted by a Priest or Bishop in the presence of other MU members. For guidance on the enrolment ceremony and diocesan paperwork, please consult your Parish Priest or the Diocesan MU Office.
