St Mary Avondale choir started about 20 years ago. It was only
a "during service choir" just singing in service and comprising
of very few people.
The arrival of Mr Manyani one of the most respected gurus in Anglican
church music, gave birth to a well composed choir that now is
participating in most if not all choral competition.
Through him Mr Manyani, other Choir Directors were born, Mr Gilbert Gumunyu and Chipo Madondo and to date we now have 6 directors. The choir participates in Diocesan Bishop's trophy competitions, Christmas Carol competitions, Youth (AYA) competitions. The choir management to excel in most of the competitions scooping different prizes during the years. The choir is now grown in numbers and is aiming high. Current membership is at 35.
